Helping Hands Club held their first annual toy drive on Jan. 11. Some teachers helped the club by putting out boxes in their classroom for students to put the donated toys in.

The thought of the toy drive was influenced by another club, Homeless Outreach, to help the community out.

“Since Christmas was around the corner,” president freshman Chelsea Lam said. “We thought about helping and donating to kids who wouldn’t receive any gifts for Christmas.

After collecting all the toys donated by students and staff, the club delivered the toys to the Alhambra Police station.

Because this year the toy drive was a success for their first year the club Helping Hands plans to continue this toy drive annually along side of other drives but they aren’t entirely sure yet.
