With the end of the school year approaching, and the start of a new summer, you will need colder foods and desserts to relieve the hot summer weather. Eating fruits is a good reliever for hot weather. However, just eating fruits by itself can be bland, so a nice twist would be to create a fruit sorbet. There is a simple and easy recipe to making a triple berry sorbet.

The ingredients needed in this recipe are:

  • 1 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups water
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 (12 ounce) package frozen unsweetened raspberries
  • 1 1/2 cups cherry juice
  • 1/2 cup lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate

The first step is to boil the sugar and water over a pan. Once the sugar is dissolved, put in the cranberries and raspberries until the cranberries pop and the raspberries soften. Then, strain the mixture, and freeze it for approximately two hours. Afterwards, mix in all the liquids and put it into an ice cream maker. The last step is to freeze it until the mixture is solid. The outcome should be a cool, refreshing sorbet for the summer.
