Boy’s Soccer– Eric Delgado

Q: Why did you decide to be a coach?

A: “Growing up, I loved playing soccer. I played soccer for about 12 years before I stopped playing competitively. All my coaches had a big influence on my soccer career and I just want to pass on all the soccer knowledge I learned growing up to the youth to help them achieve their goals.”

Q: What do you want future or current players to take away from being a part of the soccer team?

A: “My mission is to help develop complete soccer players in a supportive environment; who excel in the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological areas of the game. To instill in all the players positive core values and an excellent work ethic in which they can use outside of soccer and apply in the real world.”

Q: If you can plan the perfect vacation with no limits on money, what would it be like?

A: “The perfect vacation would be traveling to Europe with friends and family and going to soccer games.”

Badminton– Gary Gao

Q: Why did you decide to be a badminton coach?

A: “I decided to become a badminton coach because I am really passionate about my sport. I enjoy teaching and helping others improve and I seek to improve myself by improving others.”

Q: What are your hopes for this year?

A: “I hope to see a really enthusiastic and hardworking team. Hopefully, we’ll make it to CIF and have the kids play against some of the Junior national players for the experience.”

Q: If you could eat lunch with any famous person who would it be?

A: “If I could eat lunch with anyone[,] I would probably eat with Warren Buffet. It would probably teach me things I otherwise wouldn’t know.”

Girl’s Volleyball– Frosh Coach Jordan Ballesteros

Q: Why did you decide to become a coach?

A: “Coaching was always something I wanted to try. I grew up playing sports competitively and when I stopped playing, I still wanted to be involved with sports somehow. I loved playing volleyball when I was in high school and when there was an availability to coach at the high school I went to and to coach side by side with my dad, [along with] the coach that coached me,I had to spring on the opportunity. I’ve always wanted to be able to introduce my love and passion for the sport and help others find their own love and passion and to be able to pass down my experience and knowledge onto those who are currently playing.”

Q: How did you get into volleyball?

A: “My dad played volleyball for 20 plus years before I was born, and in high school I had the opportunity to try it out and see how I would like it. I ended up loving the sport.”

Q: If you weren’t a coach, what would be your job?

A: “If I wasn’t a coach I would most likely have some sort of a job at a hospital or be doing volunteer work at a hospital while studying for my MCAT.”
