  1. Feeding America 

Providing food for over 46 million people and saving 4 billion pounds of groceries from going to waste, Feeding America is the second largest U.S. charity. The organization dispenses their services through pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other community based-agencies. There is a Feeding America food bank in the 91770 area.

  1. People Assisting the Homeless (PATH)

Due to many facing housing issues, PATH aims to help people find a permanent residence by reaching out to those in need, operating interim housing facilities, performing case management for people in homes, and recruiting landlords. After people find homes, PATH stabilizes their lives by offering employment training, medical and mental healthcare, and other services. Since 2013, it has assisted over 9,000 people find permanent housing, and it operates over a dozen buildings.

  1. The Salvation Army

As the pandemic continues, the organization has made efforts to slow the spread of the virus among the volunteers, employees, and people that they serve. Reporting a worldwide membership of over 1.7 million people, Salvation Army helps veterans, those facing domestic and substance abuse, the homeless, and those who need LGBT+ support. In 2020, Salvation Army reported to have served over 155 million meals between March and September. 

  1. National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV)

Stay-at-home orders have trapped domestic violence survivors in their homes with their abusers. The NCADV utilizes donations to help serve survivors in various ways, including helping develop escape plans, connecting them to medical providers, and offers tips for accessing resources. Their website also provides the contact information to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, educational resources, and alerts people of opportunities to demand legislative action.
