Brief: ASB speaks out about Black Lives Matter Movement

Following the upsurge of protests against racially-motivated violence, ASB hosted Black Lives Matter Awareness Week from Sept. 14 to 18 with the goal of advocating for equity. The campaign promoted student activism, hoping to encourage students to share their experiences with racism. 

“As an Afro-Latina, I want other students—specifically minority students—to know that they are heard and that black lives matter,” senior Angel Galicia-Cooper said. “I felt like an outsider because of that, and I [do not] want other students to feel the way I felt.
