Newly painted building letters increase safety

Professional painters added letters on various buildings on campus over winter break, checking for possible locations for optimal visibility. The goal is to have the letters on the school buildings act as identifiable markers of where to go if law enforcement or first responders arrive on campus.

“The letters being painted came about [as] part of our ongoing efforts as a district and our school to keep students and staff safe,” Diana Diaz-Ferguson, assistant principal of Business and Activities, said.

Teacher and staff feedback regarding the importance of adding letters as navigational tools was key to the Attendance and Safety review team when making the final decision to do so.
