Creed II is an excellent addition to the Rocky franchise. It has a mixture of moments from Rocky III, Rocky IV, and Rocky V. Creed II brings back original characters such as Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) who mentors Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) in boxing. Ivan Drago, (Dolph Lundgren) father of Viktor Drago, (Florian Munteanu) who are the antagonists of this film.

When Viktor Drago calls out Adonis Creed during a press conference for title of heavyweight champion, everyone he knows is against him fighting, but this is more than just having a title. 30 years ago, Ivan Drago killed Apollo Creed, father of Adonis, during a boxing match, so when Rocky challenged Ivan, he won and caused his country Russia, to dislike him.

After Adonis wins heavyweight champion, Ivan decides it is time for his son to box him, for the embarrassment Rocky caused him. When Adonis takes the fight, Rocky decides he does not want history to repeat itself and Adonis thinks he has to take it for his father. Rocky not training Adonis causes him to lose with serious injury. As soon as his daughter is born, he decides to take up the rematch because in the first round, Viktor knocked him out when he was already down, leading to a disqualification. Now that Creed realizes what he is actually fighting for, and with Rocky by his side now, he will have to endure a lot of training to win.

Overall, Creed II was great. It allows hardcore Rocky fans to enjoy having a nostalgic feeling of the other films and would also give off a sense of redemption for all of the characters, including the Dragos, but this movie is more than just boxing, it shows the importance of family and why you cannot always do things by yourself. I would indeed recommend this film to anyone who enjoys action films and movies about the importance of family.
