If you have yet to learn of Logic, then you are missing out on his most influential and impactful song. Logic is an American musician, rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He released his empowering track in early 2017, but his message prolongs further. The 27-year-old released this song in his third album titled “Everybody;” he collaborated with Alessia Cara and Khalid for “1-800-273-8255.” Initially, I thought the song solely consisted of him rapping the phone number. After I took the time to listen to the whole song and watch the music video, I was shocked and greatly surprised. I was really moved by the whole process of the lyrics transitioning from a very dark tone to a happy ending. In addition, the song has a mellow beat while maintaining a catchy rhythm. He preaches to those who’ve experienced or is experiencing thoughts of suicide. There are many aspects to the song that makes it incredible. Even though his song has a semi-repetitive chorus, similar to many other songs, this song has multiple verses in which Logic sings and raps alongside his collaborators. To take a listen or even to simply watch the music video to the song is very heartwarming to watch and listen to, and the idea that he wrote this for the public. I rate the meaning and underlying message of this song a 10 out of 10. A Spanish version was recently released on a couple weeks ago, and it is amazing how Logic took a message into many things.
