The Hollywood Walk of Fame is well known for allowing celebrities and other famous people to put their name on a star and have people walking down the street see their name on one of the stars. One such person was Donald Trump, and his star has had a rough time ever since he announced his campaign for president of the United States of America. It has been spray painted and had a mini wall built around it, (mocking his famous idea to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico) and even more vandalism acts have been done against it. But recently, the star met its ultimate enemies; a hammer and a pickax.

A man named Jamie Otis, dressed a construction worker and took a hammer and pickax to the star and utterly destroyed it. Videos courtesy of media source Deadline show the man hacking away at the star. Witnesses didn’t intervene due to his misleading appearance, which allowed him to complete his plan of destroying Trump’s star.

In response to this act of vandalism, the president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which is in charge of the Walk of Fame said, “The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees. When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalize a California State landmark. Our democracy is based on respect for the law. People can make a difference by voting and not destroying public property.”

Otis claims Trump’s rumored inappropriate actions with women are inexcusable, and he should not be able to run for president under those circumstances.  His plan was to destroy the star and donate the broken pieces to women who were reportedly sexually assaulted by him.

However, the star was not beaten for long, as later in the afternoon, construction to fix the star was already under way. Many media sources are now asking the public to consider how far one should go in a protest before it becomes vandalism.
