It all started when Cassandra Rodriguez was a small little girl who was unable to tie her hair up in a ponytail the way she liked it. Her sister offered to do her hair, but her act of kindness resulted in tangled hair and tight knots. The knots were so badly tangled that poor Rodriguez had no other option but to cut her hair off. After that traumatizing experience, she forced herself to learn how to do her own hair. She liked the results so much that she began working with other people’s hair.

“I like to try new kinds of hairstyle and different types of hair—for example, doing cornrows, soft braids, curls, pin ups, different types of culture—because culture relates to hair a lot,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez enjoys working with different types of hair, which allows her to gain more experience. Being a hairstylist has allowed her to pursue her dream and open her own Instagram account, CASSY_HAIRSTYLING, dedicated to her hair styling career.

“I made my Instagram account my freshman year because I thought that maybe if I started my account, people would notice me and would like me to do their hair,” Rodriguez said.

Her work is appreciated by her customers, many of whom have put their trust into her hands to create the hairdo that they want. She has done girls’ hair for different occasions, including prom, dances, and personal events. People contact Rodriguez through direct messaging or directly to her, and she provides all the supplies needed to give her customers the best result.

Rodriguez is pursuing her ambition and attending college to study Cosmetology. Her goal after getting certified as a hair stylist is to be able to work with models and celebrities. What once started as a dreadful event has helped guide her to her future career.
