Ever since she was two years old, Felicia Hano lived inside a world of gymnastics. Now, she will continue to pursue her gymnastics career as an University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Bruin. Hano signed last Wednesday, officially committing herself to the gymnastics program at UCLA.

“It’s an honor, I have been waiting for this day since freshman year because I have already been verbally committed to UCLA since freshman year, but it is finally nice to have the reassurance that I am going to UCLA for sure,” Hano said.

Hano has been part of numerous elite clubs, including the one she is currently in, Gym Max. She has also been a member of the 2014-15 U.S. Senior National Team, and was also called up to compete at the 2014 Pan Am Games.

Hano has racked many awards throughout her gymnastics career, including seventh on floor at a P&G Championship, gold medalist for vault and floor at the American Classic, and a national all-around and vault titles back to back in 2012-13.

Hano will start official practice with the UCLA team beginning late July, marking her new start as a Division One college athlete.

““I know that it is going to be a lot different, and I’m not gonna be used to it. But I think that San Gabriel and the teachers have definitely prepared us well, so I will be okay,” Hano said.

Hano will start her gymnastics career at UCLA in the fall of 2016. She will be alongside many other talented gymnasts in hopes of conquering a championship title for UCLA.
